Pride and Prejudice

Okay, I've talked a little about the novelist, Jane Austen, in my last post. Now I'm going to talk about my favorite book, Pride and Prejudice, which is a book of hers.
I've seen Pride and Prejudice when I'm like grade 5, I didn't really liked it at the first time. However, when I rereaded it again, I totally fall in love with the story! I was like, WOW, this is definitely the best novel I have ever read! And I was crazy about it, I read the book over and over again every single day(I think that was during the winter vacation), I bought the movie which was performed by Keira Knightley and watched the movie again and again. Okay, now I really need to talk about the book and not me.
The story was set at about 19 centuries in England. The story's main character Elizabeth Bennet was the second of five daughters of a country gentlemas. She was unlike any of her sisters. For instance, like the big sister, Jane, she was beautiful but too delicate and has no own opinion. Or the smallest sister, a fashionate, shallow girl who was childish and selfish. Elizabeth is strong. She has her own thoughts and, even though it's not all benefitial, she has high pride and high moral standard. Maybe just like the Cordelia in King Lear. They would rather enraged someone instead of not being honest. Elizabeth is intelligent, lively, attractive, and witty, but she was too stubborn and depends too much on first impression. She judges things biased and sometimes with prejudice(although the partility is not born from negative at all, it's only because Elizabeth decided things too mindless and unthoroughly)
The story goes as Lizzy(Elizabeth's short name) deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th-century England. She met Mr.Darcy, a cold and detached man, and maybe a little mean guy in people's eyes. At first, she did not like this man because she heard some brusque words in Mr.Darcy's and Mr.Bingley's(a friend of Mr.Darcy, a nice, weak guy who was inlove with Jane) conversation. However, the things turn out that Mr.Darcy was falling inlove with Lizzy. He discovers the intelligence and beauty in this woman. Even though the rude manner and straight attitude often makes him feel angry and confused, eventually he was ridiculously in love with Elizabeth Bennet. On the other hand, Elizabeth disliked this weird man. After many misunderstandings, she even hated him. It truly hurted Darcy who loves Lizzy with his full heart. But at the end, after so many revealed truth and unknown emotions, she figured out that aloof was only Darcy's surface and she loves him. The truth is, Darcy is a kind, passionate, and integrity person. He was just afraid and don't know how to reveal the true him. He makes a poor impression on strangers, but is valued by those who know him well. Lizzy and Darcy both changed during the story, they become better people and see more clearly. So they eventually choose what they love, what they need, and what is right.
In the stroy, it talks about money and bread. True love and a good life, what would you choose? We can know Lizzy chose to follow her heart even she might have no marriage. However, her friend Charlotte, chose the bread. And there comes another cruel conflict - friendship and self. Will you give up a good chance because of your friend? Definitely not Charlotte. However, we can't really blame her. The world is unfair and realistic. If you don't have a strong faith, the reality will beat you up hardly. Most people just can't stand it so they let the dark side substitute the bright side of them to choose their life.
Also, the story discuss about family bond and different sister bonds. Distinct personalities are the factors that decide the relationships among people.
For conclusion, it's a really good book that everyone should read twice in their live.
<3 Lizzy & Darcy!!
